Cardiff United Kingdom | Creative Regions Summer School 2013 The Creative Regions Summer School is a week of intense learning for postgraduate students, practitioners and policy makers interested in engaging with the current debates and research surrounding the role of the creative economy in local and regional development. Brussels Belgium | 8th European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship ECIE 2013 The importance of innovation in the creation and success of businesses is widely accepted. Creating new firms is fundamental in a rapidly changing environment and determined by innovation. At the same time the need of more sustainable innovation, combining economic, ecologic and social aspects is recognized. Policy makers face important challenges to stimulate and provide the necessary means for innovation and entrepreneurship. At the 8th European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship ECIE 2013 practitioners, academics, and policy makers will present research, share experiences and discuss trends in innovation and entrepreneurship. Workshop especially developed for those new to managing business incubators. Business Incubation: Is your environment fit for purpose? Although our clients are the most important aspect of incubators’ day to day work, unfortunately looking after the infrastructure can get in the way. Evening Drinks Reception in the atrium of Faraday Wharf to officially kick off the conference with a pre-conference networking event Wednesday 20th November is the main conference day held at Aston Business School with a rich mix of content and speakers covering Business Incubation, Innovation, Start Ups, Accelerated Growth and Entrepreneurship. The program will be spilt into a mix of workshops and discussion groups. The Gala Awards Dinner will conclude the day in the Banqueting Suite of Birmingham City Council House. This beautiful room has played host to numerous world leaders including Bill Clinton and Boris Yeltsin.
